OBITUARY

MRS. A.L. BLACKWOOD

Mrs. Mary Jane Blackwood, 85, passed away at a Birmingham hospital last Wednesday, after and illness of two weeks.

Mrs. Blackwood, a native of Blount County, was the widow of the late A.L. Blackwood who died in 1933. Her home was at Five Points, near Cleveland, but she had lived in Birmingham with her daughter, Miss Leona Blackwood, for the past two years.

Survivals are: 2 sons H.C. and L.W. Blackwood, Cleveland, 3 daughters, Mrs. Emma Gibson, Mrs. Ester Adams, Miss Leona Blackwood, Birmingham, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.

The remains lay in state at Five Points Baptist Church, where funeral services were held Thursday afternoon.

Officiating ministers were Revs. W.S. Hullett and Hugh Conwill of Cleveland. Interment was in adjoining cemetery. Brown-Service directing. Active pallbearers were the grandsons, Coy, Edwin, Frank and Claude Earl Blackwood, Alton Gibson, and Leldon Adams.
