Mrs. Fendley Passes After Long Illness

Mrs. Nancy Jane Fendley, 80 beloved wife of Rev. L.T. Fendley passed away, July 10, after a long illness. She was a native of Blount County and was the daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Thomas E. Tidwell. She was the mother of eleven children, seven of whom survive her. Last October, she and Mr. Fendley celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Fendley was a devoted member of the Baptist Church, and her long life was filled with service to others. Surviving are the husband, three sons, Monroe, Oneonta, Tom, Portsmouth, Va., and Hershell of Montgomery; four daughters, Mrs. Emma Minor, Birmingham; Mrs. Ellie Lecroy, Tarrant; Mrs. Ida Whited and Mrs. Pearl Grisham, Oneonta; 4 brothers, T.W., Joe, Barnett and Sidney Tidwell; 29 grand-children and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the first Baptist Church, Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. H.J. Beasley officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery, Drinkard directing.
