Kiva At the time the Huber family became the town's first white settlers in 1880, this area was known as Whitefish because of its location by the Whitefish River. Later, the name was changed to West Limestone - its location in Limestone Township. The town name changed again to Kiva when it received a post office on December 11, 1915. The name was a shortened version of the name of the first postmaster, Sigrid Kivimaki, and her husband, Anselmi Kivimaki, assistant postmaster. |
